INSTALLING WALLPAPERS & SCREENSAVERS The WALLPAPERS (only!) will work on any PC or MAC, since they are static images saved in standard jpg format. If you use a Mac, I can't instruct you HOW cos I don't own one. If you use a PC with WINDOWS, here's how to set up the desktop wallpapers: Download the wallpaper image, and remember exactly where you saved it: this is important. Then Go to your START botton, select SETTINGS then select CONTROL PANEL, then select the DISPLAY icon. The first tab on this window is Background. This is your wallpaper. Select BROWSE and then find the directory and file where you saved the image, and then select it. Select OK and then you are done. SCREENSAVERS work differently. These are ONLY for PC and PC compatibles with Windows 95 or better: they will not work on a Mac. If one of you has a Mac and software for making Mac screensavers, I'll be happy to email you the images and you can upload your Mac version here. TO set up the screensavers, first download the screensaver .exe file you want to your hard drive by clicking the LEFT mouse button and select "save to disk" OR use the RIGHT hand mouse button over the filename, and then select "save target as" (either method works as well). Remember where you saved it to. THEN double click on the file name in your hard drive, and the program will automatically extract the necessary information to your WINDOWS SYSTEM directory. Now click the START button, select SETTINGS and select CONTROL PANEL and then select DISPLAY. The SECOND tab on this new window is your Screen Saver options. There is a little image of a PC monitor and below that a menu bar to select which screen saver you want. Scroll down till you see the one you downloaded (it will be called ChristmasCarol or Dracula or some such) and select it. NOW you can test it out to see if you like it (PREVIEW) AND you can change the settings. You can make the images stretch to fit the whole screen, or show them centered in their actual size, you can activate or deactivate the "effects" button to make the photos disolve one to another with special fade effects or just flip from one photo to another, you can make them change faster or slower. When it looks as you want it to, select OK and you are done. Remember you cannot sell these screensavers or the images that comprise them: they are for your personal use. All images are copyright by one studio or another and are used here only under theFair Use provision of the copyright law. Enjoy! If you would like me to make you a screensaver using your own photos (your honey or your dog or some scenic vacation you enjoyed, whatever) let me know. I can load as many images and sounds as you want. My only requirement is that it is decent (no nudity, porn, hate messages, scat or other tasteless stuff) and that you own the photos. My charges are reasonable and will depend on how many images and sounds you have. Awcreations@aol.com
